Former Jamaica College standout Tevin Rochester was named KJCCC’s (Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference) Player of The Week for weeks six of the NJCAA Division 1 2018 season the conference announced earlier today.

The freshman continues his fast start to his collegiate career netting his first multi-goal game and distributing the game-winning assist last week to help keep Barton County Community College atop the Jayhawk West standings with a 5-0 win over Northwest Kansas Technical College.

Last Saturday he played a key role in the Cougars’ 2-1 double-overtime win over Garden City Community College setting up KJCCC leading goal scorer Gabriel Arraes for the game-winner.

The 19 year old has been one of the top midfielders in the NJCAA D1 so far, scoring 6 goals in 6 starts (10 games played overall) with 2 game winners. Four of his goals and all 3 of his assists have come in conference play.

Rochester’s play has helped the Cougars move up three spots to 14th in the latest NJCAA Division I polls with a 10-1-1 record (6-0-1 conference).

During his schoolboy football years, Rochester was an integral part of a dominant JC setup that has won five straight Manning Cup and Olivier Shield titles.
