Tarasue Barnett named WAC Most Outstanding Field Performer after breaking championships discus record

Jamaican thrower Tarasue Barnett was today named Western Athletic Conference Championships Most Outstanding Field Performer.

The Grand Canyon University senior set a meet record of 60.74 metres to win the Women’s discus.

The former Edwin Allen High School standout also won bronze in the hammer throw with a new personal best 50.20m surpassing her previous best of 49.74m helping the Lopes win WAC Championship title.

This adds to the weight throw gold and shot put bronze she won at the indoor conference championships in February.
