Jamaica’s Michael Stephens finished out of the medals in the Boys 100 metres final at the IAAF World U20 Athletics Championships in Tampere, Finland.

After coming into the final with the second fastest time, Stephens started well but struggled to keep pace with the front-runners and faded at the end to clock 10.31 seconds.

The race was won by Indonesia’s Lalu Muhammad Zohri, who created a huge upset beating the Americans Anthony Schwarz and into silver and bronze respectively.

Zohri not only set a national U20 record but won the first gold medal for his country at this level.
