Jamaican female football prodigy Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw has been named to the Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) Herman Trophy watchlist by United Soccer Coaches as the beginning of the 2018 NCAA Division One Football (Soccer) season draws closer.

This year’s watchlist comprises of 44 women across all NCAA Divison 1 programs.

The MAC Hermann Trophy, presented by World Wide Technology, is the most prestigious individual award in college soccer (football) and is presented annually to the most outstanding male and female players of the year.

This year’s winners will be announced Friday, Jan. 4, 2019 at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis.

Shaw is entering her senior season at the University of Tennessee which competes in the highly rated South Eastern Conference (SEC) against some of the country’s strongest programs.

The placement on this seasons watchlist is recognition of her impact last season as well as the expectations for her in the coming season.

In 2017, her first season at the NCAA Division 1 level, the Junior College standout scored 14 goals (2nd in the SEC, tied 12th nationally) and dished out 5 assists.

After scoring 7 game winners, which was a new Tennessee record, the former Eastern Florida State College star earned her First Team All-SEC and First Team All-Region selections.

Those numbers are just a continuation of the impact Shaw has had since she burst on to the scene at St. Jago in the ISSA girls football championships.

She recorded goals regularly and was an instrumental piece in St. Jago’s undefeated championship team from 2014. At Eastern Florida, she also had an immediate impact and was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) first-team National Junior College All American in 2016.

Shaw has turned out for the Reggae Girlz at all levels, displaying her goalscoring, playmaking and leadership abilities numerous times and will be hoping her name remains on the list when it is cut to three in December.
