Jevaun Ennis and Sashine Smith named NJCAA Conference All-Stars

Jamaicans Jevaun Ennis and Sashine Smith have both been selected to the male and female MACJC’s all-star games respectively.

Ennis, the former Glenmuir High School striker has been one of the conference’s top goal scorers this season with 12 goals in 14 games with 3 assists.

The May Pen, Clarendon, Jamaica native is the leading goal scorer for the Pearl River Community College Wildcats (11-3, 6-2) with 12 goals. He has started all but 1 game so far this season, notching four braces along the way.

On the other hand, Ennis’ female compatriot Smith has been reliable in defense for the Lady Wildcats (7-7-1, 4-3-1) playing in all 16 games so far, starting 9 of them.

Smith helped the Lady Wildcats advance in the MACJC Playoff Tournament, defeating Itawamba 2-1 in their first-round encounter yesterday.

Another Jamaican Rena Gordon brought the Lady Wildcats level with her 17th goal of the year.

The north-south games will be held Nov. 10 at Freedom Ridge Park in Ridgeland.
