NCAA Indoors 2019
Guyanese jumper Chantoba Bright has been named the Conference USA Female Field Athlete of the Week the league announced earlier today.
In her indoor triple jump debut, the University of Texas-El Paso freshman got off on the right foot posting a personal-best leap of 12.77m at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic.
The Mackenzie, Linden Guyana native finished as the top collegiate performer finishing second behind professional jumper Rangel Ivonne (13.20m).
The mark places her sixth all-time in the UTEP record book in the event, second in C-USA and 30th nationally

This is the first C-USA Female Athlete of the Week honor for the Miners so far this season.
Bright is a seven-time CARIFTA medalist including back to back long jump gold medals in 2017 and 2018 representing Guyana.
