NCAA Indoors 2019
Haitian rising sprinter Bryand Rincher adds the 200 metres national record to the 60m he broke three weeks ago at the Orange & Purple Elite meet.
For his first foray around the high-banked oval, the Florida State University freshman handled the tricky track like a professional crossing the line in 20.90 seconds – the fastest among the 49 athletes in the open section at the Clemson Tiger Paw meet.
The Florida high school graduate shattered the Haitian national record of 21.13 and moved into a share of 10th place on FSU’s all-time list alongside Bahamian Olympic medalist Stephen Newbold.
Three weeks ago Rincher opened his collegiate career with a bang by clocking a record-breaking 6.60. The former high school football (American) star has already established himself as one of the nation’s best sprinters despite not setting foot on an indoor track before January.
